NN4.7, as well as earlier version, will not even display a table if the closing table tag is not present. This is not a bug, but strict interpretation of HTML.
Support for the SPAN tag in NN4.7 is a little iffy. Sometimes it works, sometimes not. Even when it does work, it seems to prevent style information that follows it in other HTML elements from working properly.
In IE5.0 one can set the MARGIN-TOP of an element to a negative value and get it to overlap the element above, creating overlapping text. In the example below, we will set the second H1 element's MARGIN-TOP property to minus 20 pixels. Below is the code.
